Today we bid farewell to another group of excellent missionaries who served wonderful missions. This was a special group for many reasons. Elders Gagon and Marx were the first two of our missionaries that we met in the mission. They were in the MTC in Provo when we arrived for the Mission Presidents' Seminar in June of 2010. Elders Melo and Nascimento were in my first training meeting for new missionaries when we arrived in Curitiba. Elder Gomes came to our mission to finish and Sister Riveira had to wait a long time in the US to get her Visa. We are very happy for the opportunity to serve with them.
Derek Lane Cordon and Bonnie Hillam Cordon are the parents of four children and are currently presiding over the Brazil Curitiba Mission; They are from the Bridlewood Ward, Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake. President Cordon served as a missionary in the Argentina Cordoba Mission from 1982-83. At the time of his calling he was a Director at Omniture, an Adobe Company. Born in Upland, Calif., to Nolan Ralph and Roberta Larsen Cordon.
Sister Cordon served as a missionary in the Portugal Lisbon Mission. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harold Gordon and Carol Lois Rasmussen Hillam.
